Rock Salt

18x36
Oil on Canvas

At the end of April I went to the coast to check on our cabin and was excited to find a great
day to paint. After doing some maintenance I set out to do some small sketches and came across this view. I like the image so well I developed it in the studio painting above.
I love the ocean and can't help but want to sit and watch it all day long. Some times I think It's
more important to just soak things in and let the surroundings take you over. Just adding more feelings and sense of place to add to my work.

" Spring Hill "

11x14
Oil on board

I got to work on a large list of paintings for a show in May in Hood River
since my last post. I want to keep sizes small 11x14 down to 5x7 . This will be
the first of three events I have scheduled for this year. I will post more details
closer to the dates . I like the way the road leads back in this piece. This fits
with my love for paths, roads and waterways, they all draw you into the
painting.

" Reflections"

15 x 6

oil on Masonite

The way the light was fading and waters reflections
made for a interesting study.
I like the use of a long and narrow panel to show a thin slice of the subject.

"Run Off"

11 x 6
Oil on Masonite

I love that certain times of the year fields that are normally
dry give up so much more character in the winter and spring.
This little run off appears once a year and then it's gone.

Oregon coast.
